The 14th Annual Festival of Trees is set for the week after Thanksgiving

LEAGUE CITY—Excitement is growing for the 14th Annual Festival of Trees scheduled for the week after Thanksgiving. All events will be held at the beautiful South Shore Harbour Resort in League City. Always a favorite, the Festival of Trees kicks off the holiday season with many community filled events.The proceeds from the fundraiser are used for the various programs of Interfaith Caring Ministries.

Below is a listing of the events associated with this year’s Festival:

Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007

“Holiday in the City” Style Show and Luncheon 11:00 a.m.

Chaired this year by Dorinda Corbett of Family Jewels, attendees will enjoy an entertaining lunch that includes a style show, silent auction and grab bags. Models will be wearing clothing from our supporting retail stores; The Clothes-horse, Jos. A. Banks and Jill’s Bridal and Fashions. DJ David Robertson of Musical Cheers will keep the audience and models rocking with his unique style of music. Themed baskets will enthuse the silent auction bidders. Tickets for the style show are $50.00 and we are expecting a sell-out crowd. Be sure to get your tickets early!

Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2007

Holiday Open House 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

After the style show, bring the family back to South Shore Harbour Resort for our Open House, sponsored this year by Ms. Janet’s Children of the Future Childcare and Learning Center. Come and see the beautifully decorated trees and have your picture taken with Santa. This event, open to the public, will surely get you in the mood for the holidays!

Dinner Among the Trees Holiday Ball 6:30 p.m.

The culmination of the week is the Festival of Trees Holiday Ball. This black tie event promises to be THE event of the season with dinner, dancing and outstanding live and silent auctions. The Holiday Ball is chaired by Teresa Vencil of TAD AKERS Event Center. Dinner, designed and prepared by Chef Kyburz, is always a culinary delight. Again this year the event will feature live music from the popular local band, The Navigators. Our live auction items include a week’s stay in Ria Dosa, New Mexico including airfare donated by Southwest Airlines; the right to name a street donated by Tracey Goza of LinGo Properties; and a week’s stay anywhere in the world. Over 50 silent auction items will be offered – a great way to get started on your Christmas shopping! Tickets for the dinner are $80. Call soon to reserve your seat.
