Rick Perry August 15, 2007 “With these funds, local law enforcement officials will be better equipped to provide and maintain adequate conditions for their K-9 units, enabling them to better serve their communities and protect its citizens,” Perry said. The State Criminal Justice Planning Fund supports programs that enhance the criminal and juvenile justice systems through various means, including law enforcement training and development, juvenile delinquency prevention programs, substance abuse treatment programs, special prosecution and criminal investigation units, and victim services programs. Each year, CJD awards more than $113 million in grants for a variety of juvenile justice, criminal justice and victim services programs. |
